LATE POST THANKS TO MY WEBSITE ISSUES!!!! God will place you exactly where he needs you to be in order to get you to where he is trying to take you. No March 15, 2014 I had the honor of assisting plus size MEGA(super isn’t big enough) Model Liris Crosse with her Life of a Working Model Bootcamp. I thoroughly enjoyed; Great information, an abundance of knowledge and networking with some key people in the industry. One of the things that really stuck was how she emphasized the importance of God, prayer, purpose and self investment. I know that the class was geared around becoming a working model but, for me….It was a life class. I was inspired by the advice that the panel provided and I got to meet some of my Sheros (female heros). I feel so blessed for the opportunity. While women came from as far as Detroit, I was suprised that more of the Atlanta aspiring models didn’t come out to learn from one of the most recognized and respected plus size models in the game. Liris Crosse, is a well respected women who has an amazing career as a plus size model. She has been called, The “Body” & “The Naomi Campbell of Plus” both are names that she has earned through hard work. Her statuesque form, cat-like eyes, full lips and caramel complexion are no doubt eye catching but it is her inner beauty that is most appealing. All of these things combined, are the reason that Liris is one of the most well know models in the plus community. She has graced to pages of countless publications including; Essence, Glamour, Seventeen, YM, Black Elegance magazine, Vibe Magazine and Vogue Magazine (the Holy Bible of fashion). Liris has been featured in commercials for Sony Mini Disc, Charles Schwab, and Amtrak. She has also made guest appearances on MTV Jams with host Tyrese and BET’s 106&Park. As an actress, Liris has had roles in “The Best Man,” (Malcolm Lee’s number one box office hit starring Taye Diggs and Nia Long), John Singleton‘s film, “Baby Boy,” in which she had a steamy scene with Tyrese. She’s currently signed to Dorothy Combs Models, strutted the catwalk for BET’s “Rip The Runway”, had the crowd in an enthusiastic uproar as she sashayed the runway shows for NY’s Full Figured Fashion Week 2012 and is the premiere face for JimmyJazz.com plus section! These are just a few of Liris’ accomplishments but they are proof that she is more than qualified to equip any aspiring model with the tools need to live the dream of being a working model. Aside from herself, Liris assembled a panel of professionals that posses and abundance of knowledge. There aren’t many times that you will be in the room with names like Derek Blanks, Mychael Knight, Chenese Lewis, Bella Styles, Tierra Burrell, Winsome Sinclair, Terrance Davidson and Saisha Beecham at the same time. They educated the ladies on every thing from their over all looks to professionalism and then they had the opportunity to speak with the panel on a one on one basis. I was amazing!!!! If you ever have the opportunity to attend on of the life of a working model events, please do so, it is the greatest investment a aspiring model can make.
