Today I am super excited to have blogger Prettypluspep gracing us with her presence. She is such a ray of light and I have learned that she and I have many things in common, excluding her being an Auburn fan.
So….. One night while engaging myself in Facebook activity, I got into a conversation with Maui Bigelow, the woman behind, in front and all around the blog, P.H.A.T Girl Fresh. We talked about one of my favorite things to do on a Saturday……….THRIFTING FOR VINTAGE! I wasn’t sure if she knew how much of a vintage head until there was the mention of vintage Worthington brand from JCPenny’s. So now we’re officially “Thrifting Sisters” (I claim people like that)!!
Not be taken lightly, the thrifting sisterhood is one of true love for the history of fashion. The best part about this sisterhood is the uncanny finesse to bring these timeless finds into modern day fashion. As part of my guest post for this awesome blog, I’m dedicating it you my love for Vintage Fashion and salute my
The absolute best part about thrifting is just wondering what you will your finds today? Can you wear this season? The mind begins to race and then you see a rack of clothing like this. Doesn’t this rack of vintage pieces makes your heart sing?
Seriously though? Does this look familiar?
Have you ever wondered why vintage items remain as vibrant and bright as something hanging in the department store right now? Materials and construction have a lot to do with this, items produced years ago were made of high quality, durability and vibrant fabrics. Polyester with 5% spandex was what you needed in your life back then. These fabrics were treated beautifully and many items produced to stand the test of time.
What other explanation could one come up with to explain the perfection in @StyleMarqui dress?
Now, I could bore you for hours talking about vintage, but I know you’re here for the clothing and tips.
Vintage Blazers are always a great score! A great vintage blazer in a vibrant color can remixed your entire look. Of course @Ivoryjinelle already knew this.
When wearing a vintage dress, let this beauty shine. Play up the retro vibe with your own twist like @Miss_Posh.
The day dress is a great vintage item for every girl. They’re usually a great playful style and print like this one here wore by @sooooveronique. Add it to your closet and have some fun!
If the tunic is long enough……wear it as a dress. Most vintage tunics length go past the hips, so throw on some short shorts and heels and werk like vintage re-designer @shapelylouise.
Go Classic. Some vintage needs no work. You make it Perfect like @Retroglamgirl in this sweet number.
And I live for spring vintage dresses. They’re always perfection. Again there is nothing else you need to add besides yourself and a gorgeous smile like @Justjewels4u.
Lastly, Nothing beats having some fashion inspiration when your thrifting for vintage. I’m constantly playing with looks from the fashion queens who inspire me. I also look at pictures from my favorite artist and raid my mother’s closet.
Vintage is Fun, Functional, Trendy and Chic. It has the power to elevate your wardrobe to great heights without setting you back.
And remember…Be Passionate, Happy, Appreciative and True to the vintage.
