My Style Journal: In Those Jeans (Old Navy’s “Rockstar” Jeans To Be Exact)

Maui B of PHAT Girl FREShWhen you’re plus size or curvy, Finding the perfect pair of jeans can be overwhelming, disappointing and downright hard AF. Either they’re too small in the waist and leave you feeling and looking like a busted can of biscuits, or they stretch and fit only never to regain their original shape again. As a plus size woman, the hassle of finding jeans that fit correctly is the reason I shied away from jeans for many years.

As fashion becomes more plus size and curvy girl friendly, there are more options and opportunities for women with curves, junk in the trunk and FUPA’s to wear jeans in style and with comfort. In the past three years, I have had a love affair with Lane Bryant and Ashley Stewart’s jeans. They have been the only brands with jeans that conformed to my body’s needs about jeans until now.

After posting on Facebook that Lane Bryant and Ashley Stewart were in my eyes the queens of plus size jeans, a few individuals including my blogger boo, stylist Shaina Harrison suggested I try Old Navy’s “Rockstar” jeans. Now I know Old Navy has great clothes, I have been purchasing Old Navy clothing since the birth of my now 20-year-old son. Daja loves their “Rockstar” jeans, and I recently purchased her another pair, but I had never tried them. However, now that I have… I AM OB-FREAKIN-SESSED!

The “RockStar” jeans addressed ever area that some consider a problem. The rise was spot on, the stretch was accommodating, and the length was as close to perfect as possible. Oh, and the sizing allowed me to rock a size 22 with a little wiggle room. So yeah, mama’s got a new favorite to add to my list.
