Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending Christ Rocks, a Christian based fashion event. While I have known about this annual event for a while, this was my first attendance. Although I am not the perfect Christian, I love God and I love faith based events because they feed my soul. This experience was no different, I was very pleased with the entire event (even though I missed a couple of scenes while lost in Leesburg Georgia).
Christ Rocks was started 6 years ago (I think) by Sabrina Jefferson and her sister Melissa Williams. As Christian fashionistas they wanted to show people that you can be fly and love God. Their message of self- love and confidence have encourage individuals of all ages, sizes and gender to walk the runway as a Christ Rocks model. I have worked with Sabrina, several of the models and supporting staff so there was no question that the show was going to be nice but it exceed anything that I imagined. The host, Reginald Sweet keep the audience engaged and entertained and the fashion was fresh!!!! I would have to say that the “Fire and Desire” scene and the “Covered in the Blood” were my favorite scenes. The “Fire and Desire scene was brought to us by Treats and Trinkets Lingerie Boutique, the theme was based around the fact that you can be saved and sexy. The owner spoke prior to her scene about marriage and divorce among Christians due to covenant killers(lust, adultery and emotional detachment). The scene was the finale and it also reintroduced the supporting staff to the audience. And when I tell you they brought it………… THEY BROUGHT IT!!!! Sabrina and Melissa look amazing rocking tutus made by Denise Byrd and escorted by their husbands. The “Covered in the Blood” scene was brought to us by Lady Like Lap Scarves by Kawambee D. The scene highlighted the beautiful trendy lap Scarves. I love the fact the her entire mission is to restore the lady and put a new spin on a old tradition.
With a team that includes; Brandon Teemer, Chebreka Smith, Anita Allen and most of all Jesus, the Sabrina and Melissa will be back next year bigger and better. To we all of the pictures and video footage from this event, click the Christ Rock album link.
